In this sector, the Ethiopian Catholic Church Social and Development Commission Coordination Office of Soddo is actively engaged in various initiatives aimed at enhancing the livelihood resilience of underserved communities. Additionally, the office manages several integrated livelihood projects.Currently, the coordination office oversees 10 distinct livelihood projects, supported by a total budget of 1,124,529,252.82 ETB. These projects are designed to directly benefit 89,830 households, comprising 38,514 male and 51,316 female beneficiaries.

Clean Drinking Water Project Fully Serving Bori Kebele_

Inaugurated in South Omo Zone!

A major clean drinking water project that will fully benefit the community of Bori Kebele in Bena Tsemay Woreda, South Omo Zone, South Ethiopia Regional State has been officially inaugurated and put into service.

This project, designed to address the community’s long-standing water shortage, was constructed through Catholic Caritas Ethiopia/Soddo sub branch office of Jinka, under the Apostolic Vicariate of Soddo, with financial support secured from CRS (Catholic Relief Services). The development project will benefit 11,530 community members and provide water access for more than 90,000 livestock. The project is supported by modern technology and includes a 22-kilowatt solar power system with a Submersible Solar Pump System Installation. In addition, the project consists of:

*A 100 cubic meter water reservoir, * 9 water points, * 6 cattle troughs, and * Sanitation facilities, including toilets.

#The inauguration ceremony was attended by:

* His Excellency Bishop Dejene Hidoto, Apostolic Vicar of Soddo; * Ambassador Fitsum Arega, Director General of Ethiopian Diaspora Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; * Mr. Abera Endeshaw, Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Water and Energy; * Mr. Zemede Zewde, CRS Ethiopia Representative along with other senior government officials, religious leaders, community elders, local residents and office staff members.

Finally, the local community expressed their gratitude for the support provided to them.

በኢትዮጵያ ካቶሊካዊት ቤተክርስቲያን በሶዶ ሀገረ ስብከት ማህበራዊና ልማት ማስተባበሪያ ጽ/ቤት በወላይታ ዞን አባላ አባያ ወረዳ አባያ ጮካሬ ቀበሌ በቀን 7-10-2024 እ.አ.አ የሀገረ ስብከቱ ጻጻስ ክቡር አቡነ ደጀኔ ሂዶቶ እና የልማት ጽ/ቤቱ ዳይሬክተር አቶ ሙሉነህ ተሰፋዬ፤ የወረዳዉ ከፍተኛ የመንግስት ባለስልጣናት የአከባቢዉ ህዘብ፤የዘርፉ ባለሙያዎችና ኃላፊዎች፤ የሀገር ሽማግሌዎችና የየኃይማኖት መሪዎች በተገኙበት ከካሪታሰ ቼክ እና ከቼክ መንግስት በተገኛ የገንዘብ ድጋፍ የተሠራዉን ንፁ የመጠጥ ዉሃ አሰመርቆ ለህብረተሰቡ አገልግሎት እንዲሰጥ ክፍት አድርገዋል፡፡

በተጨማሪም የአከባቢውን ህዝብ ፍላጎት መነሻ ያደረገ የመጠጥ ዉሃን ተደራሽ ለማድረግና አገልግሎት የማይሰጡ ነባር የዉሃ መስመሮች ሥራን ዉጤታማ ለማድረግ ከህዝብና ከመንግስት ጋር የሚሰራዉ ሥራ ተጠናክሮ የሚቀጥል መሆኑንንም ክቡር አቡነ ደጀኔ ሂዶቶ አስረድተው የማህበረሰቡን ጥያቄን ለመፍታት ከዘርፉ ባለሙያዎች ጋር መስክ ምልከታና በአከባቢ የሚሰራዉን የአከባቢ ጥበቃ ፕሮጀክት ያለበት ደረጃ ከወረዳ ዋና አሰተዳዳሪ፤ የፓርቲ ጽ/ቤት፤ ግብርና ልማት ጽ/ቤትና ከዉሃዉ ሴክተር ጋር ዉይይት በማድረግና በቦታዉ የችግኝ ተከላ ፕሮግራም በማድረግ በአከባቢ የሚሰሩ ሎሎች የካቶሊክ ልማት ጽ/ቤት ፕሮጀክት ዉጤታማነትን ለማስቀጠልና አዳደስ ፕሮጀክቶችን ለማስጀመር ከተለያዩ እርዳታ ሰጪ ድርጅቶች ጋር የሚደረገዉ ቅንጅት ከመቼዉም ጊዜ በላይ ርብርብ እንደሚጠይቅ ተናግረዋል፡፡

አያይዘዉም ለሥራዉ ስከት የራሳቸዉን አሻራ ከጅምር ጀምሮ ለሳረፉ ለመንግስትና ለፓርቲ አመራሮች፤ ለባለሙያዎችና ለህዝብ ትልቅ አክብሮታቸዉንና ፍቅራቸዉን ገልፀዋል፡፡
