The four-day Youth Festival of the Sodo Diocese, held under the theme “The Gospel Mission Renewed by the Grace of Jubilee in Christ,” concluded successfully with vibrant spiritual engagement and active youth participation.
The festival was inaugurated at the Sodo Don Bosco Youth Center in the presence of His Grace Abune Dejene Hidoto, Bishop of Sodo Diocese, alongside Father Abnet Leloch, Father Aba Abebe Mega, diocesan youth leaders, priests, and invited guests. Over 2,000 youth and many faithful attended the celebrations, prayer sessions, and discussions.
During the event, His Grace Abune Dejene Hidoto emphasized the youth’s vital role in the Church, proclaiming: “You are the light of the world; let the light of the Gospel shine through you.” He encouraged the young people to continue dwelling in the house of the Lord and allow the Word of God and the teachings received during the festival to illuminate their lives. He reaffirmed: “The Church is yours—today and tomorrow. Without young people, the Church is empty.”
The event concluded joyfully on Sunday with a thanksgiving Mass at Sodo Holy Trinity Catholic Cathedral, presided over by the Bishop himself. Communities, including the Dubo community, expressed their joy in being part of this spiritually enriching experience. The unity, learning, and celebration that marked the days of the festival will leave a lasting impact on all participants.
